In addition to the on track action there were some good parties. NASA held a reception at Mansfield Reformatory, where Shawshank Redemption and many other movies were filmed.
Note to self: I don't think I'd like prison, it's scary.
This is one of the outtake scenes from Shawshank Redemption - when the Warden is in the bathroom and an odd girl crawls out of the tub.
Calling the Kremlin on the Warden's emergency phone.
I swear, I was innocent.
Hallway between the cells.
Rob looking just a little bit too excited about lockdown.
Prison window at night.
We booked a bed and breakfast on a horse barn. It was 1 mile from the track and the breakfasts were great.
Driving to the track in the morning.
Nothing like morning dew on an oversized carbon fiber wing.
We had two driver meetings a day, which doesn't sound too bad until you realize just how much 70 different drivers (two combined run groups) can b!tch.
My gear, getting ready to head to track.
Of course in addition to drivers meetings we also had post session impound and possibly Tech inspections. IE - more driver griping. I was sent to Tech several times and made it through fine, including the one time I was only 1lb over minimum weight.
Tech looked at a variety of things including car classification. Such as Z0K VIN. No explanation needed, really...!
Bill in center getting his 1st place TTD award. To his right is the esteemed Mr. Buuuuuuuuuuusher.
Me on right getting my 2nd place TTE award. Matt Montes came in 3rd and is on left; Brian Makse came in 1st and is in the middle. Brian and Matt are both great guys; it was awesome to be up there with them.
Champagne fight #1 for all TT podium guys.
Shaking it up.
I waited 5 long years to get doused with cheap champagne first thing in the morning again.
